Watch an Activity Online

We celebrate our community’s cultural diversity, the beautiful traditions of Latin American countries, and the contributions Hispanics have made to American society. The national commemoration of Hispanic Heritage Month began with a weeklong observance, started in 1968 by President Lyndon Johnson. Twenty years later, President Ronald Reagan expanded the observation to September 15 - October 15, a month-long period that includes several Latin American countries’ anniversaries of independence.
