Technology Training

Learn the basics about computers at one of the many computer classes offered at the Library. Hands-on and lecture classes are offered so you can learn how to browse the internet, use word processing software, and download eBooks. Find out what’s going on at your Library below. Seating is limited and preregistration may be required. Check with your branch for more information.

Learn Computer Skills from Home

If you can't visit the library to attend one of our hands-on training sessions, try the online Learning Express Computer Skills training modules.

Follow this link and enter your library card number for access to several different self-paced, interactive courses on Microsoft Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word in versions 2007 through 2016. Each program offers skill level training from Basic to Intermediate through Advanced instruction. There are also tutorials to learn Graphics programs like Illustrator and Photoshop, and for instruction on using Windows 7, 8, and 10.

These tutorials require speakers or headphones for following along with the instruction.

Files - Basic (Hands-on)

Learn how to create, name, move and organize files and folders on your computer. (60 min.-2 hr.) Preregister.

Google Calendar (Hands-on)

Prerequisite: Your own Google user ID and password.
Learn what a Google Calendar is and what you need to use it, including how to create an event how to delete an event, how to edit an event and how to change default settings. Basic mousing skills required. (60-90 min.) Preregister.
