15th Annual Families Reading Together
Each year one picture book is chosen for all preschool through first grade children to read with their families. This year’s book is Lola Plants a Garden written by Anna McQuinn and illustrated by Rosalind Beardshaw. Celebrate this special book throughout the month of November!
Reading together is the single most important way to help young children get ready to read. It helps children develop an interest in reading, as well as increases their vocabulary and general knowledge. Children who enjoy being read to are more likely to want to read on their own.
